The right-hander, who had thrown just 2.2 innings in his first two years with the Big Green, made his second career start on March 27 at Quinnipiac and handcuffed the Bobcats for five frames on two hits, striking out four to earn his first collegiate victory in the 9-2 win. Three days later, Vaules locked down his first career save by hurling three perfect innings, striking out four more batters, in the 23-1 blowout at Columbia. For the season, the walk-on is 1-0 with the one save and a 3.78 ERA over 16.2 innings, and opponents have hit just .230 against him.
