Goal of 2,500 gifts will unlock a $250,000 gift to support student-athletes
The Forever Big Green Challenge, which launched on Nov. 10 and runs through Dec. 1, enters its second week and has crossed the 1,000-gift threshold in support of Dartmouth Athletics. The challenge, now in its second year, is focused on securing 2,500 total gifts by its conclusion which will unlock a $250,000 gift from the Dartmouth Athletic Advisory Board (DAAB) to the AD's Fund for Excellence, which supports student-athlete initiatives across all programs.
Each program has individual gift goals that, when combined, account for the 2,500 total gift target. Donors can make gifts to individual sport programs, the Athletic Sponsors program and/or the AD's Fund for Excellence in order to qualify their gift for inclusion. This challenge is part of a year-long fundraising effort for Dartmouth Athletics that provides vital, unrestricted support for programs that will fund critical elements such as assistant coach salaries, equipment, apparel, technology and DP2 services.
The challenge also includes student-athlete vlogs that reinforce the impact of giving and share insight into the student-athlete experience at Dartmouth.
Last year's challenge, known as the D250 Athletics Challenge, was a rousing success, collecting 2,928 gifts and raising over $2 million.
