HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth scores two second half goals to defeat Cornell, Saturday evening by a score of 2-1 at home. The goals were scored by fifth year midfielderÂ

Dartmouth (7-7-1, 2-5-0 Ivy) trailed 1-0 after 45 minutes of play despite controlling much of the action in the first half. The Cornell (3-11-2, 1-6-0 Ivy) goal came in the 18th minute on a ball that was played into the box and knocked into the right side of the net. The Big Green held an 8-4 advantage in shots and a 6-0 advantage in corners headed into halftime.

The Big Green's effort finally began to be rewarded in the second half. Kawakami tied the game in the 65th minute by scoring off a rebound and freshman
Hannah Curtin was credited with the assist after taking the initial shot. Five minutes later Dartmouth took the lead. Winstanley fired a ball into the back of the net on a play that was started by senior midfielder
Izzy Glennon and Kawakami. Both Glennon and Kawakami notched assists on the play. The Big Red ramped up the pressure but could not find an equalizer and Dartmouth took home the 2-1 win.

It was the final game of the season for the Big Green and they honored the class of 2022 before the game. After taking nearly two years off, the team tallied seven wins in their return to the field and will look to return next season and build on a successful 2021 campaign.
