Women's rugby and men's golf had strong finishes over the weekend
The women's rugby team continues it's winning ways with a victory against the Army Black Knights in part due to Anjali Pant scoring her first career try. The men's golf team traveled to New York where Eli Kimche finished third at 5-under-par.
Their efforts are rewarded by being named The Richards Group Athletes of the week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
Anjali Pant, Jr., Osceola, Ind., Fullback, Women's Rugby
Anjali Pant scored her first career try in the opening half of Dartmouth's pivotal match against Army West Point and scored again less than 10 minutes later, helping the Big Green jump out to a 14-0 lead in the NIRA Championship rematch. Dartmouth improved to 3-0 with a 24-15 win and handed the Black Knights their first loss of the season.
Eli Kimche, So., Park City, Utah, Men's Golf
Eli Kimche registered his second straight top three finish last weekend at the Columbia Autumn Invitational in Lake Placid, N.Y. The sophomore shot 9-under par over three rounds in a career-best performance.
Kimche's best round came on Sunday, as he recorded six birdies in the back nine to finish the third and final round 5-under par. His performance helped Dartmouth tie for third in a field of 10 teams at Lake Placid Golf Club.
