NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Dartmouth volleyball team, the No. 4 seed in the Ivy League Tournament, suffered a season-ending 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-17) loss to No. 1 Yale Friday night at Payne Whitney Gymnasium.

The Big Green end their 2022 campaign with a 16-9 (8-6) record, marking their highest win total since 2011. Yale enters the Ivy League Tournament Final with a 22-2 (13-1) mark.

Bomi Ogunlari made history in the second set, recording her first block of the match and 97th total on the season. She now stands alone atop the program's single-season blocks list. She's also tied for the best single-season blocking average in program history at 1.18 per set.

Amelia Gibbs posted a team-high seven kills, hitting .235 against a tough Yale defense that leads the nation in opponent hitting percentage.
Makenzie Arent had 14 assists in her final match with the Big Green. Yale's balanced offensive contingent was led by Gigi Barr, who racked up 10 kills. Barr also added seven blocks .

Dartmouth picked up the first three points of the opening set, including kills by
Taite Ryan and
Grace Wiczek that opened the scoring. The Bulldogs trailed 4-1 before finding their footing to earn seven of the next eight points Facing a 16-12 deficit, back-to-back kills by
Ellie Blain and a Yale hitting error brought the Big Green within one. It was nearly all Bulldogs from that point on as Dartmouth only mustered kills by Blain and
Piper Stevens for the remainder of the set. Consecutive Yale kills preceded Carly Diehl's ace to wrap up the set, 25-18.

In the second set, Yale picked up where it left off with an early 5-0 lead and soon led 8-2. The Bulldogs continued rolling through most of the set, but Dartmouth has able to hang around with a few different three-point spurts. The Big Green trailed 21-15 and kills by Ogunlari and
Karen Murphy helped them begin to climb back, but Yale's Gigi Barr had the answer with back-to-back winners. The set ended, 25-19, after Dartmouth's attack error, which followed a service error.

The Big Green led 14-7 in the third set and looked primed to force a fourth, but let Yale get back in the game with untimely errors. Barr again strung together a pair of kills and suddenly Dartmouth's lead had been cut to two, 14-12. The Bulldogs eventually took the lead on another Barr swing and a seven-point run had Dartmouth on the ropes. Mila Yarich's back-to-back kills ended the match.

The Bulldogs advanced to the Ivy League Tournament Final, where they'll face No. 3 Brown, who upeneded No. 2 Princeton in Friday's first semifinal match.
