THIS WEEKEND
Dartmouth welcomes Cornell and Columbia for the second-to-last weekend of the regular season before the inaugural Ivy League Tournament. The program will honor its five seniors prior to Saturday's match.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
It was a three-set kind of weekend as Dartmouth went on the road and defeated Penn 3-0 before falling to Princeton by the same score. Penn's Palestra had been a house of horrors for Dartmouth, so much so that the Big Green hadn't won there since 1999, but
Gilad Doron's squad was able to overcome those haunting memories just a few nights before Halloween. The following day, Princeton got the best of Dartmouth despite very little separation between the two teams in the first two sets.
Â
ONE-UPPING LAST YEAR'S TEAM
Last year's team marked significant growth for the program with 15 wins, a total Dartmouth hadn't achieved in 10 years. With a sweep this weekend, Dartmouth would have 16 wins and match the 2011 team with two matches still to be played.
Â
IVY LEAGUE TOURNAMENT
The inaugural Ivy League tournament is rapidly approaching, so each match feels just a bit more important. Unbeaten Yale looks to be the top dog and the likely host, but a trip to Princeton looms for the Bulldogs. Only one match separates third-place Brown and fourth-place Dartmouth, and those two teams will meet as part of next weekend's regular season-ending slate.
Â
LAST TIME VERSUS CORNELL
Freshman
Kauany Gutz had a career night against the Big Red in a 3-0 win with 15 kills on only 28 attacks (.429).
Bomi Ogunlari, who has enjoyed some of the most efficient matches in program history this season, hit .667 with nine kills. The Big Green posted a team hitting percentage of .327, marking their fifth time hitting better than .300 in a match this year.
Â
LAST TIME VERSUS COLUMBIA
The Big Green rolled in the first two sets before dropping the third, but bounced back for a 25-22 victory in the fourth. 14 blocks in that contest stands as a team-high for the season.
Bomi Ogunlari was the ringleader in that effort with a season-high eight blocks.
Â
SCOUTING CORNELL
Cornell enters the weekend 4-15 overall and 2-8 in the Ivy League. It's only two conference victories have come against Columbia. The first of those wins came in the Ivy opener, so things looked promising for the Big Red until a six-match losing streak. Eight teams, including Dartmouth, have hit .300 or better against Cornell, who ranks last in the conference in opponent hitting percentage. Watch out for Sammie Engel at the service line, though. She ranks 16th in the nation and second in the Ancient Eight in aces per set (0.52).
Â
SCOUTING COLUMBIA
Columbia's lone Ivy League win came against Penn and they have since stumbled through a six-match losing streak. The Lions are a decent blocking team, ranking third in the conference in blocks per set, but have struggled defensively with the lowest digs per set mark in the Ancient Eight (and third-lowest in Division I).

WHAT'S AHEAD
The Big Green are on the road next weekend at Yale and Brown for the final weekend of the regular season. Both matches will be broadcast on ESPN+.
