Equestrian and Baseball made the cut this week.
The Dartmouth equestrian team hosted the ECAC North Conference Single Discipline Championship this past weekend with senior captain Claire Azar making the most of riding at her home arena by winning a spot on the All-Tournament team. Another senior was making his presence felt all over the baseball diamond. Justin Murray in six games over the past week played on both sides of the plate. Pitching and batting in the designated hitter spot he did it all.

Their efforts are rewarded by being named the DartmouthSports.com Athletes of the week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
Â
Â
Justin Murray, Sr., Charlotte, N.C., P/1B, Baseball
Â
The first true two-way player for Dartmouth in over two decades, Murray hit and pitched at a high level over the six games during the past week for the Big Green baseball team. At the plate, the senior from Charlotte, North Carolina, hit .389 (7-for-18) with four doubles and four RBIs while scoring nine runs. While his best offensive game came against Bowdoin against whom he went 3-for-3 with three doubles, four runs and two RBIs, his best overall game came on Sunday when he twirled seven shutout innings while striking out a career-high 10 Brown batters in a 14-1 victory. He helped his own cause at the plate by reaching base three times on a single and two walks and scoring three runs. For the season, he is hitting .326 with a team-high eight doubles.
Â
Â
Claire Azar, Sr., Bethesda, Md., Equestrian
Â
Senior captain Claire Azar of the equestrian team was named to ECAC All-Tournament Fence and Flat teams over the weekend at the ECAC North Regional Single Discipline Championship at Morton Farm. Azar put on an impressive display as she earned four points for the Big Green.
Â
In the first matchup against Sacred Heart, the Pioneers took three of the four fence points with Dartmouth captain senior Claire Azar securing the lone point for the Big Green. Moving onto the flat on Sunday, Azar followed up with another strong performance as she was the only Dartmouth to secure a point, outscoring her opponent 73.5-52.
Â
In the Big Green's second matchup against SUNY New Paltz, Azar once again put the first point up on the board for Dartmouth after her fences round aboard Babalou. She earned a 77 compared to the Hawks' 50.
