DartmouthSports.com Athletes of the Week - Blain & Lawrence

The 2022 Fall home season kicked off with wins on the volleyball court and on the cross-country course. James Lawrence was the top finisher for the men's cross-country team. Junior Ellie Blain led the volleyball team to a 4-0 record in their home tournament.

Their efforts are rewarded by being named The Richards Group Athletes of the week.

Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

James Lawrence, Sr., Wayne, Pa., Men's Cross Country

James Lawrence of the Dartmouth men's cross-country team finished in third place with a time of 25:35.62 and helped the Big Green to a win at the Maribel Sanchez Souther Invitational on Saturday morning.

Ellie Blain, Jr., Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., OH/MB/RS, Volleyball

Junior Ellie Blain helped lead the Big Green to an undefeated 4-0 weekend at the Dartmouth Invitational. She led the team with 36 total kills, 3.42 digs per set and earned a career-high 23 digs in a four-set win over Siena. She was one of two Dartmouth players named to the All-Tournament Team.
