Men’s Soccer Plays to 2-2 Against Harvard on Senior Day

Trenton Blake and Vasilis Moiras both finished with three points
HANOVER, N.H. – First-years Trenton Blake and Vasilis Moiras each had one goal and one assist in the second half as the Dartmouth men's soccer team played to a 2-2 tie with Harvard at Burnham Field on Saturday afternoon in the team's season finale.
The Big Green end the season with a 4-8-3 overall record and a 2-3-2 record in the Ivy League. The Crimson enter the tournament with a 5-4-7 overall record and a 3-1-3 record in conference play.
"I thought we played well for about 70 minutes," said Bobby Clark Head Coach of Men's Soccer Bo Oshoniyi. "We hit a little adversity and then could never really grab a grip of the game again. Credit to Harvard, they kept coming and ended up scoring the equalizer at the end."
Harvard overcame a 2-0 deficit to tie the game with just a couple minutes left on the clock. Ethan Veghte headed home a corner kick in the 88th minute. In the 77th minute, the Crimson were awarded a penalty kick, which Alessandro Arlotti fired into the top corner.
After a scoreless first half, Dartmouth opened the scoring shortly into the second frame. Tom Collins headed the ball in the direction of Moiras, who then hit a high looping ball over the Harvard defense. Blake ran onto it, taking a perfect first touch to knock it into space before calmly tucking the shot into the bottom left corner to put Dartmouth ahead 1-0.
"Obviously, we're all a little disappointed with the result, but all in all, a tie isn't the end of the world," Blake said after the match. "Just really excited for what the group can do next year."

The Big Green tallied their second goal in the 60th minute Moiras curled an effort past Harvard goalkeeper Lucian Wood for his team-high sixth goal of the year. Blake, out on the left wing, played the short pass to Moiras. Moiras cut inside, ripping a shot that took a deflection, causing just enough movement to land in the top right corner.Trenton Blake slots it home to put the Big Green ahead 1-0!!
