HANOVER, N.H. — Yumi Yoshiyasu of Dartmouth sailing was named a second-team All-Ivy League selection following a stellar regular season, as announced by the conference on Monday. The junior was a key part of the Big Green's success throughout a busy spring season.
Yoshiyasu was an important contributor for the Big Green as a crew during her junior season. She was also named an All-New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association (NEISA) first-team crew and was a finalist for the 2023 Babineau Crew of the Year award.
A native of Houston, Texas, Yoshiyasu competed at numerous marquee events for Dartmouth throughout the 2022-23 season.
Yoshiyasu and her teammates' performance throughout the regular season helped Dartmouth earn a No. 4 seed at the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Women's Team Race Championship regatta. She was selected to compete at the national championship event for the Big Green in Stanford, California.
At the Women's NEISA Team Race Championship on April 15-16, Yoshiyasu helped lead Dartmouth to a second-place finish against a field of competitive programs. The Big Green compiled a record of 8-1 in the top-six and top-four rounds, finishing second in a crucial regatta.
