PRINCETON, N.J.—The Dartmouth men's hockey team improved to 4-0-0 on the season with a 5-1 win over Princeton on Saturday night.
The scoring opened at the 18:24 mark of the first period, as the Big Green got on the board. Dartmouth had the Tigers hemmed in their own zone as Princeton looked to clear. CJ Foley pinched to keep the puck in and made a couple of defenders miss before sliding the puck to Cam MacDonald on the backdoor. MacDonald scored his second goal of the season as he tapped the puck in.

Following a Princeton clear the Big Green regrouped and gained the Princeton blueline as Nikita Nikora threw a backhand saucer pass to Sean Chisholm who cut to the high slot. With a Princeton player closing in on him, the senior captain wristed home his third goal of the year to make it 2-0.
Less than two minutes later at the 2:07 mark the Big Green were back on the board. MacDonald chipped a breakout pass up the sidewall to Hank Cleaves. Cleaves rifled a pass right to the stick of Hayden Stavroff who snuck behind the Princeton defensemen. Stavroff netted his third goal of the year to increase the lead to three. Cleaves picked up his first collegiate point on the play with the primary assist.

Colin Grable stick lifted a Princeton player which allowed Nikora to pick up the loose puck. Nikora gained the line and looked to shoot, his first shot was blocked. He collected the rebound and looked to deke around the goalie, after getting the goalie out of position, he slid the puck to Chisholm on the backdoor. After two periods, the Big Green led 4-0 while also outshooting the Tigers 17-9.
Just before the midway mark of the third period, the Big Green scored their fifth goal of the game. Braiden Dorfman picked up a loose puck in the neutral zone and sprinted into the Princeton zone. He then dropped the puck to John Fusco who flung a shot towards the net. The puck went off the goalie's right pad and Steven Townley found the loose puck and buried his first goal of the year.

It is the first time Dartmouth has started 4-0-0 since the 1957-58 season. It is also the first time that Dartmouth has swept a road weekend against Quinnipiac and Princeton since they became travel partners in the 2005-06 season.
The Big Green return to Thompson Arena next weekend as Cornell and Colgate travel to Hanover. Dartmouth takes on Cornell on Friday, Nov. 15 and then Colgate on Nov. 16. Both games are set for 7 p.m. puck drops.
