CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The Dartmouth men's track and field team closed out the 2024 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Championships on Sunday at the Gordon Indoor Track at Harvard. The Big Green finished in sixth with 39 points.

The distance medley relay team of
David Appleton,
Liam Murray,
J'Voughnn Blake and
Albert Velikonja put forth an incredible effort in the race, narrowly missing out on first by just .12 seconds. The group ended the race in second to earn silver with a time of 9:56.74.

Blake finished second in the 800m race with a personal best time of 1:49.11, the second-fastest time in program history, earning eight points in the overall standings for the Big Green.

Jack Intihar finished third in the heptathlon with 5233 points while
Ethan Hughes earned fifth with 5123 points. The duo each earned a win in an event on Sunday as Intihar won the 1000m race with a time of 2:48.31 while Hughes won the pole vault after clearing 4.80, tied for the eighth-best mark in program history. Intihar's 5233 points are now the fifth-most in program history, while Hughes' 5123 are eighth-most.

Rahul Batlanki claimed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 14.68m, giving the Big Green two points.

DJ Matusz earned two points after finishing fifth in the 1000m with a time of 2:25.35.

Princeton won the team title with 168 points. Cornell took second with 115 points followed by Penn in third with 106 points.
