HANOVER, N.H. — Robert L. Blackman Head Football Coach Sammy McCorkle announced two staff promotions on Thursday. Wendy Laurent is now associate head coach, along with his role as tight ends coach, while Joe Castellitto is taking on the role of special teams coordinator, to go along with his role as nickels coach.
"Wendy and Joe have proven to be great additions to our staff," said McCorkle. "These promotions are well deserved and I'm excited about their growing impact in our program."
Laurent joined the Big Green staff in March of 2022 after serving two seasons as graduate assistant at his alma mater, Penn State. During his first season, Laurent mentored Jack Henry, who was named honorable mention All-Ivy in 2022. Along with his time at Penn State, Laurent was offensive line graduate assistant at the University of Buffalo for the 2019 campaign.
Castellitto was hired as an assistant coach in March of 2023 after three seasons at the University of Connecticut. Prior to his stint at UConn, he was outside linebackers coach at Central Connecticut State. Last season, the Big Green defense stood third in the Ivy League in scoring defense (19.3 points per game).
