Stellar performances recognized
HANOVER, N.H. — A pair of first-years shined for their teams, helping them to a season-ending victory and postseason win. They have been recognized as The Richards Group Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athlete – one male, one female – as Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
Ethan Brown, Fy., Waukesha, Wis., Baseball
Ethan Brown and the Big Green hosted the Maine Black Bears for their final game of the 2024 season this past week. Brown put up his best offensive numbers, going 4-for-6 with three runs scored and six RBI, thanks to his first career grand slam and second home run of the season. Brown's grand slam in the eighth inning put the Big Green up 17-11 en route to their 18-11 victory in the season finale.
Justice Malone, Fy., Mount Vernon, Ill., Softball
Justice Malone hit .375 with three RBIs across Dartmouth's three Ivy League Tournament games on her way to earning an All-Tournament honor. In a victory over No. 2 seed Yale, Malone put the Big Green on top 4-0 during the first inning with her two-run single, and those runs proved to be crucial in what ended up being a 4-3 triumph. Against third-seeded Harvard, Malone gave Dartmouth a 5-2 advantage in the third inning with another RBI single.
