Dartmouth to Host USRowing U23 Training Camps in July

U23 Men’s Sweep and U23 Women’s Selection Camps to take place in Hanover
HANOVER, N.H. – The Friends of Dartmouth Boathouse will be busy in less than two weeks as a pair of United States Under 23 National Team camps are set to take place from July 10-31. Dartmouth head men's lightweight coach Trevor Michelson will serve as a co-head coach for the men's sweep camp, with Big Green head women's coach John Graves serving as an assistant for the women's camp. Wyatt Allen, the Betsy and Mark Gates 1959 Head Coach of Men's Heavyweight Rowing, was originally going to serve as head coach for the men's sweep camp, but is now coaching Billy Bender '24 and Oliver Bub '20 as they prepare for this summer's Olympics in Paris.
The selection camps will determine the crews selected to represent the U.S. at the 2024 World Rowing Under 23 Championships in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada from Aug. 18-25.
Last summer, Dartmouth hosted the Men's U23 Sweep Camp. Graves led the men's eight to a silver medal while Michelson coached the four to a bronze medal. Dartmouth men's heavyweight student-athletes Jacob Hudgins and Julian Thomas were in the eight and Sammy Houdaigui was coxswain of the four.
This year, Thomas and Houdaigui are both returning for the camp on the men's side, with Aine Ley taking part for the women.
