HANOVER, N.H. —
Linda Cimino, Dartmouth's Gail Koziara Boudreaux '82 and Family Head Coach of Women's Basketball, has announced the promotion of
Robert Isme to associate head coach. Isme, entering his second year on the Big Green staff in 2024-2025, was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator last season.
"We are thrilled to promote Rob Isme to associate head coach," Cimino said. "Rob's been an integral part of the growth of our program. I'm so proud of what he has done leading our recruiting efforts and his dedication, commitment and loyalty are truly remarkable. He was instrumental in our improvement on the defense end that saw us go from last in the conference in team defense to second in the Ivy League and ranked nationally. As the primary post coach, he also assisted in developing a defensive game plan in which Dartmouth led all NCAA division I teams in fewest fouls committed per a game. Under his guidance, our front court contributions improved immensely especially in the play of Claire Meyer and Doreen Arik."
"Receiving this promotion fills me with immense gratitude," Isme said. "It is a reflection of the trust and confidence Coach Cim and my peers have placed in me. I am excited for the challenges ahead and eager to continue contributing to our collective growth and success."
Isme arrived at Dartmouth as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator in 2023. Prior to his arrival in Hanover, he spent two seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator on Cimino's staff at St. Francis Brooklyn after a lengthy stint at his alma mater, New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). During the 2021-22 season, his first on Cimino's staff, Isme helped guide the Terriers to a program-best 13 conference victories. The 17-win campaign also featured an upset of Michigan State, which marked St. Francis Brooklyn's first Power Five triumph in program history.
At NYIT, Isme was a men's basketball assistant coach from 2008-15 before serving as the Division II program's interim head coach for the 2015-16 season. He then joined NYIT's women's program as an assistant coach and helped guide the Bears to a 2018-19 conference championship, plus a pair of NCAA Tournament bids, before joining Cimino at St. Francis Brooklyn prior to the 2021-22 season.
Isme earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from NYIT in 2012 and went on to earn his master's in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University in 2021.
He and his wife, Zaibis, have two children — Maximus and Kalliope.
