Dartmouth features six different goal scorers; Granholm scores hat trick
HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women's soccer team took a dominant 8-0 win over Stonehill at Burnham Field on Sunday afternoon. The Big Green featured six different goal scorers and 25 players who saw action on the pitch.Â

With the win, the Big Green improve to 3-1. Meanwhile, the Skyhawks fall to 1-4 this season. This win marks the most goals scored since September of 2000.Â

Dartmouth was first to score in the seventh minute of the game when junior Mary Lundregan found fifth-year  Daisy Granholm for the first goal of the match, 1-0. Shortly after scoring the first goal, Granholm was fouled in the box and was awarded a penalty kick. Scoring her fourth goal of the year, Granholm capitalized on the PK, 2-0. In the 16th minute, sophomore Frankie Valverde passed a through ball to senior Aleena Seales to score her first goal of the year, 3-0. Just two minutes later, a cross by Lundregan was tipped in by Granholm, to complete the hat trick, 4-0. Granholm's third goal of the game was the first hat trick for a Big Green player since Allie Winstanley on October 8, 2019 at Merrimack.

In the 58th minute of the second period, first-years Lourdes Lauterborn and Emmanuella Frimpomaa worked through the Stonehill defense to find Valverde to score her first goal of the season, 5-0.

Dartmouth out shot Stonehill 32-2 and had a 15-1 edge on shots on goal. The Big Green also had 10 corner kicks.Â

Dartmouth will return to play on Thursday, September 5 at 7 p.m. as it travels to Pennsylvania to face Pittsburgh.Â

Working around the box, junior Audrey Marin crossed the ball to first-year Emily Garrard to score her first collegiate goal, 6-0.
