Messier and Erwin Garner The Richards Group Athletes of the Week Honors

HANOVER, N.H.—Dartmouth women's hockey player Lauren Messier and men's swimmer Tommy Erwin have been named The Richards Group Athletes of the Week following exceptional performances on the ice and in the water.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes – one male, one female – as Athletes of the Week. This week's honorees represent the last two weeks of Dartmouth Athletics.
Lauren Messier – Sr., Burlington, Ontario, Women's Hockey
Lauren Messier scored two goals and two assists against Harvard over the weekend. In Friday's overtime win, Messier assisted the first two goals the Big Green scored, followed by netting the overtime winner on the power play. On Saturday at Thompson Arena, Messier tied the game in the first period, scoring the Big Green's only goal of the game before her team went on to win the shootout.
Tommy Erwin - So. - San Antonio, Texas - Men's Swimming & Diving
Erwin won both of his events in the team's meet against Bates College over the weekend. He also set a pool record in the 1000 free with a time of 9:30.75. The time also marked a season best for the swimmer. Erwin also won the 200 yard backstroke event with a time of 1:50.45
