Dartmouth Names Jerry Hubshman Jr. Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development

HANOVER, N.H. — On Monday, Dartmouth Athletics announced the appointment of Jerry Hubshman Jr. as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development, where he will lead all fundraising and stewardship efforts supporting the Big Green's 35 varsity programs, 36 club sports and intramurals.
Hubshman, who will start on Monday, December 1, is coming from Fordham University, where he most recently served as Senior Director of Athletics Development and Senior Associate Director of Athletics. In that role, he led a five-person development team, directed all athletics fundraising operations, and provided strategic leadership for major gift, annual fund, and capital campaign initiatives. Working closely with university advancement, Hubshman also managed ticket operations and stewardship programs to deepen donor engagement across the Ram community.
At Fordham, Hubshman played a key role in securing transformational support for several capital projects, including a $2 million football locker room renovation, a $1.5 million campaign to enhance Water Polo operations, as well as secured funding for a sailing boathouse project. His work was instrumental in expanding Fordham's philanthropic base, strengthening relationships with alumni, parents, and friends, and aligning development initiatives with the university's broader advancement goals.

His collaborative approach, relationship-driven leadership, and record of building successful advancement programs make him an ideal fit to lead Dartmouth Athletics and Recreation Development as we continue to grow our positive impact on students.
In this role, Hubshman will serve as a key member of the athletics leadership team, providing vision and leadership for all development strategies within Dartmouth Athletics and Recreation. He will partner closely with the Office of Advancement to strengthen the culture of philanthropy, expand major gift opportunities, and advance key capital priorities, endowment growth, and programmatic support for athletics and recreation. Hubshman will also oversee the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors at all levels and will collaborate with head coaches and leadership to align fundraising efforts with institutional priorities.

Prior to his time at Fordham, Hubshman spent five years at Hofstra University, where he served as Associate Director of Athletics for External Affairs. In that role, he directed Hofstra's athletic fundraising, corporate partnerships, marketing, and ticket operations, leading the department to a 111% increase in philanthropic revenue, a 303% increase in unique donors, and a 59% increase in corporate sponsorships. He also served as a sport administrator for baseball and women's golf and was a leadership coach in Hofstra's Pride Leadership Academy, mentoring student-athletes preparing for post-graduation success.
Hubshman began his career at his alma mater, Stony Brook University, where he was a member of the Seawolves football team and served as team captain and class president of the Health Science Major within Stony Brook Hospital's Health Science Center. He later held external relations and advancement roles at both Stony Brook and Long Island University, gaining early experience in donor engagement, event strategy, and revenue generation.

A native of Dunmore, PA., Hubshman earned both his bachelor's degree in health science and his master's degree in liberal studies from Stony Brook University. He is joined in the Upper Valley with his wife, Beth, their daughter, Maddox, and son, Hughes.
