
Cornish and Hesová Earn The Richards Group Athletes of the Week Honors

HANOVER, N.H.—Dartmouth women's hockey player Michaela Hesová and Dartmouth men's basketball player Ryan Cornish have been named The Richards Group Athletes of the Week following successful weekends on the ice and court.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes, one male, one female – as Athletes of the Week.
Michaela Hesová, Fy., Prague, Czech Republic, Women's Hockey
Michaela Hesová had a dominant weekend in net for the Big Green, posting 83 saves and a .970 save percentage to lead her team to a 1-1 record. On Friday, Hesová posted a 36 save shutout en route to a 2-0 win over No. 7 St. Lawrence. On Saturday, she made 47 saves, tying the program record for saves in a season with 818.
Ryan Cornish, Sr., Guard, Potomac, Md., Men's Basketball
Ryan Cornish played and started in both games for the Big Green over the weekend. The team went 2-0 on the weekend, completing a season sweep of Columbia by a score of 78-56 and took down Cornell 88-49. Cornish averaged 28.9 minutes, 16.5 points over the two games and 3 rebounds. Against Columbia, Cornish had 17 points, three rebounds, four assists and a steal. He shot 6-10 from the field, 3-8 from three and 2-5 from the charity stripe. Versus Cornell, Cornish drained 16 points shooting 5-12 from the field, 3-6 from beyond the arc and 3-4 from the free throw line. He added three rebounds, five assists and two steals.
