Dartmouth opens its season on Saturday, Sept. 20 against in-state rival New Hampshire
HANOVER, N.H. — Sammy McCorkle, the Robert L. Blackman Head Football Coach, announced the Big Green's 2025 football schedule on Friday, which includes 10 games — five home and five on the road. Along with Dartmouth's seven-game Ivy League slate, the Big Green will play nonleague contests against New Hampshire, at Central Connecticut State and at Fordham. All 10 games are slated for Saturday kickoffs.
"This is an exciting schedule," said McCorkle. "I'm looking forward to our 2025 season and getting back on the field to compete."
Winners of back-to-back Ivy League Championships and four in the last five seasons, Dartmouth will begin its 2025 season at home, hosting intrastate rival New Hampshire out of the CAA on Sept. 20. The teams didn't square off last season, but played the prior three. The Big Green won in 2021 with the Wildcats victorious in 2022 and 2023.
The Big Green will hit the road the following week to face defending NEC Champion Central Connecticut State on Sept. 27. This past season, Dartmouth defeated the Blue Devils at home, 20-16, in a game that came down to the wire.
Ivy League play begins on Oct. 4 at Penn. The Big Green have won two straight and six of the last seven meetings, winning 20-17 last season and 23-20 in overtime during the 2023 campaign — the last time Dartmouth played at historic Franklin Field.
The first Ivy League home game is set for Oct. 11 against Yale. Last season, the Big Green came back from down 21 points with 7:30 remaining to win in overtime. That game was named the 69th best college football game of the 2024 season by ESPN.
Dartmouth's final nonleague contest is set for Oct. 18 at Fordham. The Big Green look to continue the success from the 2024 season opener, which saw them run away from the Rams, 45-13.
The rest of the schedule features solely Ivy League games. Next up will be a home matchup against Columbia on Oct. 25, who shared the Ivy League Championship last season. A week later, Dartmouth will travel to Harvard on Nov. 1, the other member of the three-way tie for first in 2024.
The Big Green will home for two games, hosting Princeton on Nov. 8 then Cornell on Nov. 15. Dartmouth has won two straight against the Tigers while looking to avenge last season's defeat at Cornell.
The regular season finale is set for Nov. 22 at Brown. The Big Green have won seven straight against the Bears, including last 56-28 and 38-13 over the last two seasons, which helped clinch the Ivy League title in both years.
The FCS Playoffs begin the following weekend, with the Ivy League being eligible for the postseason for the first time in 2025.
In 2024, the Big Green wrapped up their fourth Ivy League Championship in the last five seasons, finishing 8-2 and 5-2 in the Ivy League while capturing their Ivy-record 22nd all-time title.
