HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth Athletics and Recreation Department is proud to announce a new partnership with Skinletics, a leader in collegiate athletic wellness. Skinletics will provide cutting-edge solutions and wellness resources, centered in mobile red-light therapy devices, to further enhance the performance and recovery options available to Dartmouth student-athletes.
"Our partnership with Skinletics is a complement to Dartmouth Peak Performance (DP2), which is dedicated to helping student-athletes maximize their physical, intellectual and personal development throughout their time at Dartmouth," said Mike Harrity, the Haldeman Family Director of Athletics and Recreation. "This collaboration will enhance our ability to support student-athlete recovery and overall wellbeing, supporting their ability to perform at their best on the field, in the classroom and beyond."
Â
"Skinletics is a health and wellness brand centered in red-light therapy," said John Abraham (CEO), a former Dartmouth student-athlete. "That's our core initial product launch, but we're innovating and working on other products that will support the athlete in different parts of their lives."
Â
Executive Associate Athletics Director for Peak Performance Austin Driggers is looking forward to adding Skinletics as a partner.
Â
"The Dartmouth student-athlete strives toward maximizing their potential — athletically, academically, and personally," Driggers said. "Sustaining peak performance requires balancing those efforts with intentional recovery strategies and good foundational health and wellness. This partnership will enhance our student-athletes' recovery through the modalities we make available and the spaces we create to support their rest, recovery and readiness to perform at their best."Â
Â
Head athletic trainer Ben Schuler added: "Student-athlete health and wellness are a cornerstone of DP2 and Dartmouth Athletics and Recreation. We are excited to partner with Skinletics to enhance recovery options for student-athletes, helping them perform at the highest levels."Â
Â
The Dartmouth partnership is extra special to Abraham, who graduated as part of the class of 2016. He competed in both track and field and rugby throughout his time — including a stretch when he competed in both — and finished his senior year focused solely on rugby. One proud track and field moment came in the 2014 Ivy League outdoor championship when as a sophomore, he qualified for the final of the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 4X100 meter relay. In rugby, Abraham was an honorable mention All-American in 7s.Â
Â
Now, Skinletics' product offering and investment in the student-athlete experience will help create a new recovery room in Lewinstein Athletic Center.
Â
"This helps the student-athletes take recovery into their own hands," said Abraham. "Whether it's a sports psychologist, which I saw during my time at Dartmouth, or the athletic trainers, there are so many different places you could go on campus to work with others and get external support."Â
Â
Over the past few years, Abraham has had the privilege of sharing Dartmouth and Hanover with Denise van Gulik (Co-Founder) and the rest of the Skinletics team.
Â
As van Gulik shared about the partnership, "We're incredibly grateful for our partnership with one of the most beautiful Ivy League campuses. Dartmouth has become a special place to me personally. The fact that they created a dedicated space for Skinletics shows their real commitment to helping student-athletes recover at their best."Â

"I love Dartmouth more than anything," said Abraham. "I was a first-generation student-athlete, and Dartmouth and the alumni network changed my life. Being able to play a role in enhancing the student-athlete experience is something we're really proud of at Skinletics. The pressure today's student-athletes are facing is unprecedented; our goal in partnering with Dartmouth on this recovery room is to create an opportunity for today's Big Green student-athletes to find time to relax and recover in the midst of their increasingly busy schedules and demands.Â
"On numerous occasions throughout my time in Hanover, I was the beneficiary of the kindness and generosity of Dartmouth alums and it feels good to return the favor."
