Connor Klekota announced
Robby Dambrot has joined the staff as the team's newest assistant coach.
Dambrot is coming off a seven-year professional playing career, having played most recently for Loudon United FC in Virginia. His playing career started with Louden United in 2019, playing there until 2021 before heading to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC for the 2022 season.
In Pittsburgh, Dambrot helped the team to a 4-0-1 record before being traded to the Indy Eleven. In two seasons in Indianapolis, Dambrot made one playoff appearance in 2023.
In 2024, he returned to Loudon United, playing his final two seasons there and helping the team to their first playoff appearance in club history in 2025. The defender made 79 total career appearances with Loudon United, tallying three goals.
Dambrot finished his professional career with over 130 appearances and 8,000 minutes played in the USL Championship.
Dambrot played collegiately at Akron, making 47 total appearances and scoring one goal and three assists for five total points. The Zips were the MAC regular season and tournament champions for three straight seasons, including a trip to the NCAA Tournament semi-finals in 2015.
While at Akron, Dambrot was a three-time Academic All-MAC honoree and a two-time MAC distinguished scholar.
Dambrot transferred to Pitt for the 2017 and 2018 seasons, playing in 21 total matches, tallying one goal and adding three assists for five total points. The Panthers won their first ACC Tournament match in program history while Dambrot was on the team in 2018.
Prior to starting his professional career, Dambrot served as a volunteer assistant coach at Pitt, assisting with training, film, scouting, and recruiting.
In addition to his playing career, Dambrot was a team representative for the USL Players Association, helping with the first and second USL Collective Bargaining Agreements, as well as emphasized player development and mentorship.
