MILANO CORTINA, ITALY - Nine members of the Dartmouth Athletics Department are participating in the 2026 Olympic Games in Milano Cortina. This page will update as athletes compete in the games.
Thursday, February 19 - 1:10 p.m. ET
Laura Stacey and Team Canada played against Team USA in the Gold Medal game Thursday afternoon, as the Americans skated to the 2-1 overtime victory over Canada, sending Stacey home with Silver. This is Stacey's third medal in as many games and her second silver. Stacey helped get her team on the board in the second period, tallying an assist on a short-handed 2-on-1 to give Canada the lead in the second period. Team USA did not pull even until the final minutes, tying the game at one with 2:04 to play in regulation. The Americans found the back of the net for the game winner just 4:07 into the 20-minute overtime period. Stacey finished the game with 31 shifts for 22:28 of ice time to help Canada to Silver.
Monday, February 16 - 3:10 p.m. ET
On Monday, Laura Stacey and Team Canada faced Switzerland in the semifinals, looking to secure their spot in the Gold Medal game. Canada skated to the 2-1 victory over the Swiss and will play in its eighth gold medal game, having played for one since 1998, the first year women's hockey was featured at the Winter Olympics. Stacey tallied four total shots on net, recording 15:23 of ice time.
Stacey will now play in her third straight gold medal game, having won silver in her first Olympic games in 2018 and gold in Bejing in 2022. Canada will face Team USA in the gold medal game on Thursday, February 19 at 1:10 p.m. ET. You can watch the game live on Peacock.
Monday, February 16 - 4 a.m. ET
Tanguy Nef competed in his second event of the Olympics Monday morning, racing the slalom. Nef posted a 58.46 first run, sitting in 11th overall. He then went on to post the fifth fastest second run time, 57.17, to jump five spots and finish sixth overall, less than one second off the podium.
AJ Ginnis '20 made his Olympic debut on Monday in the slalom, representing Team Greece. Ginnis did not finish his first run.
Sunday, February 15 - 6:00 a.m. ET
John Steel Hagenbuch skied in his second race of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, Sunday, representing the United State in the 4x7.5km relay. Hagenbuch skied the first freestyle leg, helping Team USA to a sixth place overall finish, its best in the relay since 2002. Hagenbuch came out of the gate strong, racing a 3:16.1 first 1.8km, the second fastest time of the field, to keep the Americans in third overall. He then raced a 4:37 second lap before a 3:53 third lap. In his last 1.8km lap, Hagenbuch skied a 4:43.3, passing it off with the Big Green in sixth. Team USA finished the relay in sixth overall, posting a cumulative time of 1:06:11.8.
Saturday, February 14 - 10:40 a.m. ET
Laura Stacey '16 and Team Canada continued their hunt for Gold, Saturday, taking on Germany in the Quarterfinal Playoffs. Canada skated to a 5-1 victory over the Germans to advance to the Semifinals to be played on Monday, February 16. Canada scored just 1:40 into the game before scoring the eventual game winning goal at the 16:41 mark of the period. Germany scored its lone goal of the game just over eight minutes into the third period, but Canada held on for the 5-1 victory. Stacey finished the game with one shot and 20 shifts for 13:19 of ice time.
Saturday, February 14 - 6:00 a.m. ET
Rosie Brennan '11 competed in her second event of the 2026 Olympics Saturday morning, racing as part of Team USA's 4x7.5 Km relay. Brennan, alongside Julia Kern, skied the classic half of the relay while Novie McCabe and Jessie Diggins skied the freestyle portion. Brennan and the rest of the relay skied to fifth place overall, 38 seconds off the podium. Brennan was the second skier in the relay, starting with Team USA in seventh overall. After her 20:10 7.5km, the relay team was in sixth overall before ultimately finishing one spot higher in fifth, following the freestyle legs.
Jasmine Drolet also competed in the relay for Team Canada, as Drolet raced the second classic leg, helping the Canadians to eighth overall. Drolet took over with Team Canada in eighth, bumping them to seventh overall after her first 1.875km split, posting a time of 5:30.9. Her second split was her fastest of the day (4:38.2), as Drolet left her team in tenth after her portion of the relay, posting a total time of 21:13.9. The final two freestyle legs pushed Canada to finish eighth overall.
Friday, February 13 - 10:40 a.m. ET
Michaela Hesová's Team Czechia faced Sweden in women's ice hockey quarterfinal play, Friday. Despite Czechia outshooting the Swedes 29-23, Sweden earned the 2-0 victory. With the loss, Czechia is eliminated from the tournament. Hesová did not play against Sweden, but finished her first Olympic Games having made two appearances, making 48 saves in just under two full games played, posting a .905 save percentage.
Friday, February 13 - 5:45 a.m. ET
John Steel Hagenbuch made his Olympic debut on Friday, competing for Team USA in the 10k freestyle interval start. Hagenbuch was the first American finisher, crossing the line in 21:41.1 to claim 14th overall. He started slow, sitting in 34th overall at the 3.7K mark. By the 8.6K mark, Hagenbuch had climbed up to sixth before finishing the ninth kilometer in 41.2 seconds to finish 14th.
Thursday, February 12 - 8:30 a.m. ET
Laura Stacey continued playing in her third Olympic Games Thursday, as Team Canada took on Finland in a rescheduled game, their final game of Group A preliminary round play. Canada skated to a 5-0 victory over Finland, with the help of two assists from Stacey. She tallied both of her assists in the third period, adding the secondary assist on the Canadians fourth goal of the game just 1:22 into the third period, and the lone assist on the fifth goal at the 13:29 mark of the period. Stacey finished the game with 23 shifts for 11:39 of ice time. Canada will be back in action for Quarterfinal play on Saturday, February 14, taking on Germany. Team Canada and Laura Stacey continued their Group A preliminary play against the United States today, as the Americans skated to the 5-0 victory. Stacey tallied 21 total shifts for 15:51 of ice time. She also recorded four shots on goal. Canada will be back in action on Thursday, February 12 against Finland, playing in the rescheduled fame from February 6. Puck drop is set for 8:30 a.m. and you can watch live on Peacock.
Tuesday, February 10 - 3:10 a.m. ET
Two Dartmouth skiing alums competed in the women's cross country classic sprint this morning, beginning with the qualification race. Lauren Jortberg '20, in her first Olympics appearance, claimed the final spot to advance past the qualification and into the quarterfinal. She finished with a time of 3:49.23, claiming the final spot by 1.62 seconds. Jasmine Drolet '25 also competed in the qualification, finishing 43rd overall with a time of 3:54.63. She jumped six total spots from the 0.8km mark, after posting the 49th fastest time.
In the quarterfinal, Jortberg competed in the first set. She posted a time of 4:00.89 but did not advance.
Monday, February 9 - 3:10 p.m. ET
Two Dartmouth women's hockey connections faced off on the Olympic stage this afternoon as Michaela Hesová's '28 Team Czechia and Laura Stacey's '16 played in group a preliminary round action. Canada skated to the 5-1 victory as Stacey tallied a goal and Hesová played just over two periods in net. Stacey recorded her first goal and first point of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in the first period, extending Canada's lead to 3-0 with just over six minutes to play in the opening period. She finished the game with 19 shifts and 15:49 of ice time.
Hesová entered the game after Stacey's goal, playing the remainder of the first period and the full second and third. She allowed two goals in her 46:09 of play, making 21 saves on 23 shots, a .913 save percentage.
Team Canada will be back in action tomorrow, Tuesday February 10, taking on Team USA at 1:10 p.m. ET while Team Czechia's preliminary round play is concluded. All five teams from Group A advance and will meet the three teams that qualify from Group B. More information on Team Czechia's and Team Canada's games will be available on DartmouthSports.com.

Tanguy Nef competed in the men's alpine skiing team combined event this morning for Team Switzerland, winning Gold. Nef secured his first medal in his first Olympic Games and the first medal for a Dartmouth alumni of the 2026 Olympics. Nef posted a 51.82 in the slalom, the best time of the field. His partner, Franjo van Allmen posted the fourth best time in the downhill race, just four tenths of a second out of first place. The pair's combined time of 2:44.04 won the Gold by just under one second.

Michaela Hesová's Team Czechia was back in action Sunday afternoon, playing in their third game of Group A preliminary play against Finland. Czechia skated to the 2-0 victory for its first win of the 2026 Olympic Games. Czechia is right back in action on Monday, February 9, taking on Team Canada and fellow Dartmouth alum Laura Stacey '16. Saturday, February 7 - 3:10 p.m. ET
Laura Stacey and Team Canada kicked off their Group A preliminary play Saturday against Switzerland. Canada skated to a 4-0 victory over the Swiss. On Canada's first line, Stacey had 21 total shifts, accumulating 15:47 of ice time. Canada will be back preliminary round action against Team Czechia on Monday, February 9, the first meeting between current Dartmouth goaltender Michaela Hesová and Laura Stacey in this year's Olympic games. Women's cross country skiing kicked off Saturday morning with the 10km skiathlon as Rosie Brennan skied in her first race of her third Olympic Games for Team USA while Jasmine Drolet made her Olympic Debut for Team Canada. Brennan finished 37th overall while Drolet claimed 38th, just 12 seconds behind her fellow Dartmouth alumna. Brennan finished the race in 1:00:06.0 while Drolet crossed the finish line in 1:00:18.8. The next women's cross country race will be Tuesday, February 10 with the sprint classic.
Friday, February 6 - 8:40 a.m. ET
Team Czechia women's hockey was back in action Friday, as Michaela Hesová got her first Olympic start against Switzerland. Michaela made 27 saves in Czechia's 4-3 shootout loss, posting a .900 save percentage. She made eight saves in the first period, 12 in the second, and four in the third, before stopping all three shots faced in the overtime period. The shootout went to seven rounds, as Michaela made four stops. Czechia will be back in action in preliminary round play on Sunday, February 8, taking on Team Finland. Laura Stacey and Team Canada were set to begin their play in the 2026 Winter Olympics Thursday against Finland, but an illness on Team Finland caused the game to be postponed. The game will now be played on Thursday, February 12 at 8:30 a.m. ET. Canada's first game of the Olympic Games will be Saturday, February 7 against Team Czechia.
Thursday, February 5 - 10:40 a.m. ET
Michaela Hesová's Team Czechia opened the 2026 Winter Olympics against the United States. Czechia fell to the Americans 5-1 in the first game of Group A play. All five teams from Group A will advance, in addition to three teams from Group B at the conclusion of the Preliminary Round on Thursday, February 12. Team Czechia will be back in action Friday, February 6 at 8:40 a.m. ET, taking on Switzerland.
