Zimmer and Elsinger Named The Richards Group Athletes of the Week

HANOVER, N.H—Oscar Zimmer and Carly Elsinger of Dartmouth skiing have been named The Richards Group Athletes of the Week following outstanding performances on the mountain.

Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes – one male athlete or team, one female athlete or team– as Athletes of the Week.

Oscar Zimmer, Sr., Oslo, Norway, Skiing

Oscar Zimmer continued his strong EISA carnival season on the slopes this weekend at the UVM Carnival, earning two podium finishes. Zimmer's weekend started with the giant slalom, finishing second overall, just over six tenths out of first place. On Friday, he won the slalom, his second slalom win of the season. His 52.45 run one time and 56.33 second run time were both second best among the field. In his eight races, Zimmer has now tallied two overall wins, six podiums, and one additional top five finish.

Carly Elsinger, Sr., Richmond, Vt., Skiing

Carly Elsinger earned two top ten finishes at the UVM Carnival this past weekend, claiming second and ninth overall respectively. In Thursday's giant slalom, Elsinger posted her highest finish of the season, second overall with a time of 20:08.81. Her 1:05.62 first run time was second best in the field, while her 1:03.19 second run was fourth best. She also finished in the top ten in Friday's slalom race, taking home ninth.
