HANOVER, N.H. – On Monday, the Inter-collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) announced its all-academic team, recognizing seven members of the Big Green. To be eligible, student-athletes must he juniors or seniors with at least a 3.4 grade point average and have participated in at least seven regattas.
Ben Sheppard,
Lilly Baker,
Olivia Drulard,
Phoebe Lee,
Sophie Menyhart,
Sudi Zhao, and
Vivian Heitkoetter were all recognized by the ICSA this year.
Sheppard, a junior engineering sciences major, has competed in nine regattas for the Big Green this year, helping Dartmouth to six top ten finishes. Sheppard's best finish of the year came at the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association's Open Team Race Championship as Dartmouth finished third overall.
Baker adds to her 2025-26 recognitions after a successful junior campaign. The French major has sailed in 12 regattas this season, finishing outside the top five just once. She started the season with a B Division win in the Hatch Brown Trophy. Baker also led the Big Green to a second place finish in the A Division of the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship. In the spring, her best finish was second overall at the Marchiando Team Race.
Drulard, a junior economics major, has also impressed this season, finishing in the top-ten in all 12 of her regattas. Drulard opened the season with a B Division win at the Regis Trophy before also taking home the win in the first round of the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship. Drulard's best spring finish was third at the Blaire Herron Memorial Women's Team Race.
Senior economics major Lee also earned ICSA All-Academic Team honors. She competed in six fall regattas and eight spring regattas. She opened the season with an A Division win at the Harry Anderson Trophy, also finishing in the top ten of the five remaining fall regattas. In the spring, she most notably helped Dartmouth to a top four finish at the ICSA Open Team Race National Championship, its best finish since 2019.
Menyhart, a junior biology major, sailed in 11 regattas this season for the Big Green, opening the year with a B Division win at the Toni Deutsch Trophy. She also finished in the top ten at seven additional regattas.
Biology major Zhao sailed in 15 regattas during her senior campaign. She's earned 11 top ten finishes, including two B Division wins at the Regis Trophy and the first round of the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship. Her best finishes in the spring were third overall at the McMerrick Team Race and the Blaire Herron Memorial Women's Trophy.
Finally, Heitkoetter, a junior Art History major, sailed in eight regattas and acted as a reserve in two more. She sailed to a second place finish in the B Division of the Sherman Hoyt Trophy. Her best spring finish was third at the NEISA Open Team Race Championship.
The Big Green will wrap their season with the ICSA Women's Fleet Race National Championship from Friday, May 15 through Monday, May 18. The Open Fleet Race National Championship will follow from Tuesday, May 19 through Friday, May 22. Both national championships will be hosted at the University of South Florida.
