MANCHESTER, N.H. – On Tuesday, the New Hampshire Legends of Hockey Hall of Fame announced its 2026 induction class, including Dartmouth student-athlete and Head Coach Judy Parish Oberting '91.
Oberting will be inducted for her impressive coaching career at the helm of the Big Green, having posted a 114-40-8 career record across five seasons and holding the best win percentage in program history (.728).
From 1998-2003, Dartmouth women's hockey was dominant in both ECAC Hockey and the Ivy League, also making national tournament appearances. In five years under Oberting, the Big Green won two ECAC Hockey regular season championships, two ECAC Hockey tournament championships, two Ivy League Championships, and made two NCAA Frozen Four appearances.
Additionally, a team coached by Oberting holds a program record in 13 categories; single seasons games played (35), wins (27), fewest losses (5), ECAC Hockey wins (20), win percentage (.828), home win percentage (.969), season goals (167), points (395), shorthanded goals (9), shutouts (10), goals against average (1.76), win streak (13), and home win streak (16).
In her tenure, she also saw five athletes surpass 100 career points and 14 cement themselves on top ten lists, five in offensive categories and nine in goaltending categories.
In her first season at the helm, Oberting's Big Green posted a 16-9-5 overall record. Just one season later, the Big Green posted a 12-12 record.
At the turn of the century, Dartmouth went 26-5-1, winning both the ECAC Hockey regular season and tournament championship. The Big Green also took home the Ivy League crown and made their first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history, making it all the way to the Frozen Four.
In 2001-02, the Big Green played to a 24-6-2 record, once again winning the ECAC Hockey regular season and Ivy League Championship.
Oberting's final season as head coach was the 2002-03 season, as she once again led the Big Green to the Frozen Four. Dartmouth went 27-8 while also winning the ECAC Hockey tournament championship.
While Oberting finished her Big Green coaching career in 2003, her Frozen Four appearance at the end of the season started a streak of five straight Big Green teams to make the NCAA Tournament, leaving a lasting impact beyond her five years on the bench. Over the course of those five seasons, Dartmouth claimed six championships; three ECAC Hockey tournament championships, one ECAC regular season championship, and two Ivy League Championships.
While she will be inducted for her coaching, Oberting was also a standout women's hockey player for the Big Green. She ranks second all-time in total points (89-126-215), tenth for goals in a season (28), first for assists in a season (55), and fourth for points in a season (75, 1990-91). The Big Green went 19-7 during her senior campaign, posting a perfect 10-0 Ivy League record to be crowned the Ivy Champions.
