RICHMOND, Va. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) has recently named the Women's Swimming and Diving and Men's Swimming and Diving teams as Scholar All-America Teams. Additionally, a record number 13 student-athletes have been named as individual CSCAA Scholar All-Americans.
"Our men's and women's teams put in a tremendous amount of work in their pursuit of academic excellence during the competitive season, so we are always happy to see them recognized as Scholar All-American teams specifically honoring their efforts and outcomes in the classroom" says head coach

On the men's side, eight athletes were named as Scholar All-Americans.
McCoy Lyman represented the Big Green on Scholar All-America First Team after his performance on the board and in the classroom this season.
William McClelland,
Jihoon Jung,
David Gal,
Yan Dvoretskiy,
Everett Tai,
Adam Man, and
Aryeh Lesch each earned spots on the Scholar All-American Second Team.

The men's team has the 11
th highest ranked GPA in Division I and are officially ranked 14
th.

On the women's side, five student-athletes were named as Second Team Scholar All-Americans.
Carinn Bethea, Klara Johnsson Stjernström,
Milly Kirkman,
Maggie Lambdin, and
Chiara Lopach each represent the Big Green.
The women's team GPA is the 20
th highest ranked GPA in Division I and are tied with five other teams as 20
th in the nation.

In the Ivy League, both the men's and women's team GPAs rank fifth.

Socha reflects on the exciting year the teams have had this season saying, "This year it is particularly exciting to see so many student-athletes on our team earn individual Scholar All-American honors. The individual honor is awarded based on a combination of high-level success achieved in both the classroom and the pool or on the boards. This is the largest number of individual Scholar All-Americans our program has seen in numerous years; the other coaches and I are exceptionally proud of each of them!"Â
