Katie Kotlowski Named Women’s Ice Hockey Assistant Coach

HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's ice hockey head coach Maura Crowell has announced the hiring of Katie Kotlowski as an assistant coach for the Big Green.
Kotlowski played for the University of Wisconsin-Madison, for six seasons, where she was a key part of one of the most successful runs in NCAA women's hockey history. Kotlowski and the Badgers won three NCAA national championships in 2021, 2023 and 2025. She made the NCAA championship game in four of those years and capped her illustrious career with an incredible 38-1-2 record.
Kotlowski swept the WCHA regular season championship, WHCA Final faceoff championship and the NCAA championship. She played in 176 games during her career and recorded 39 points as a standout defender for the Badgers.
"I'm incredibly excited for the opportunity to grow within the Dartmouth program alongside a competitive staff that prioritizes excellence and fosters an outstanding team culture," said Kotlowski. "Having spent my entire life in the Midwest, I'm also excited to experience the East Coast and all that Dartmouth, and the state of New Hampshire have to offer. I'm grateful for this opportunity and can't wait to get started this season with the Big Green!"
Off the ice, Kotlowski was incredible in the classroom as she was recognized by the WCHA, five times, as an All-Academic team member. She was also named a two-time WCHA Scholar-Athlete and a four-time Big Ten All-Academic member. Kotlowski earned a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Psychology in 2023 and earned a Master in Sports Leadership in 2025, both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Kotlowski joins Dartmouth from Marian University, where she was an assistant coach in 2025. With the Sabres, she was the defensive coordinator and focused on defensive skills. In addition, Kotlowski was responsible for player development, video breakdown, pre-scout and practice plans. She contributed to the winningest season in program history and helped the program clinch their first playoff win in program history at Marian as an assistant coach.
