Owen Zalc Named Semifinalist for 2026 Campbell Trophy

HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth senior kicker Owen Zalc was named a semifinalist for the 2026 William V. Campbell Trophy, college football's premier scholar-athlete award, the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame announced on Wednesday, Sept. 23. The trophy recognizes the nation's best football scholar-athlete for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.

An economics major from Cary, North Carolina, Zalc is a two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honoree.

On the field, he set Dartmouth's single-season field goal record as a first-year and was named the 2024 Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Year. That season he hit a 54-yard field goal against Harvard, which tied the league record. He opened this season by going 2-for-2 from 50 and 51 yards at No. 7 Lehigh. The performance earned him his seventh Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week award.

The NFF will announce 12 to 16 finalists on Oct. 21.
