FAQs
What are the intercollegiate competitions like?
Collegiate riding is different from most types of horse showing because you ride the host school's horses. Riders compete in a head-to-head format riding the same horse as their opponent. Each round is given a score of 0-100 and the rider with the higher score earns their team a point.
Are there costs involved?
Because riding at Dartmouth is a varsity sport, all entry fees, transportation costs and practice fees are covered.
How often does the team practice?
Team members ride four times/week, and have four un-mounted sessions each week which include two strength and conditioning workouts and two other workouts on campus.
What level rider are you looking to recruit?
Riders should have experience competing in the hunter/jumpers and equitation. Riders should be training at the 3'3"/1.00M level or above.
