Gregg Lemkau '91 and his wife, Kate, have established the Bobby Clark Head Coach of Men's Soccer position — named in honor of one of Dartmouth's most storied and successful soccer coaches — through a $2 million endowment.
Scottish-born Bobby Clark appeared in more than 400 games for Aberdeen F.C. before coming to the United States. Clark coached at Dartmouth from 1985 to 1993, leading the team to three Ivy League titles and four consecutive seasons ranked in the top 10 nationally. He left Dartmouth to coach the New Zealand national team, and has coached the men's team at Notre Dame since 2001, winning a national championship in 2013. His son, Tommy Clark '92 Med '01, founded Grassroot Soccer, a nonprofit organization that uses soccer to combat the spread of HIV and AIDS in Africa.
Lemkau, who played on two Ivy League title-winning teams during Clark's tenure, is currently co-head of Investment Banking for Goldman Sachs. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1992, was named a managing director in 2001 and became a partner in 2002. Lemkau serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Grassroot Soccer and as Chair of the Dartmouth Athletics Advisory Board.
