FIFTH YEAR (2017)
Appeared in four varsity games as a tight end in wins over Stetson, Yale, Cornell and Brown.
SENIOR (2016)
Battled through injuries, but contributed in practice at both wide receiver and tight end.
JUNIOR (2015)
Injuries limited him on the field, but he did catch three passes for 79 yards and a touchdown in a junior varsity rout of Williams.
SOPHOMORE (2014)
Continued to develop with the junior varsity … had six receptions to tie for the jayvee lead, amassing 55 yards against Middlebury.
FRESHMAN (2013)
Lined up with the varsity late in the 56-0 victory over Columbia … primarily worked with the jayvee squad … caught single passes against Middlebury, Williams and Bridgton Academy … big game was in the passing scrimmage with Norwich when he caught nine passes for 101 yards with a touchdown.
HIGH SCHOOL
A Rivals two-star recruit who also drew interest for his exploits on the basketball court where he averaged a double-double as team captain and an all-league choice … also played volleyball … honorable mention Serry League selection as well as academic first team … one of eight members of a talented team planning to play college football, including one at UCLA, one at Boise State and one at Kentucky … two-dozen Amat grads have gone on to play in the NFL.
PERSONAL
Full name is Joseph James Cook Jr. … born on May 24, 1995 … only child of Joe and Kim Cook … cousin Chris Tandy was a defensive end at San Jose State … played baseball at Cooperstown as a 9-year-old … interested in economics and public health … avid runner as well.
BASKETBALL
FIFTH YEAR (2017-18)
Joined the team after Thanksgiving after finishing up his football career ... played in six games and made all three shots from the floor … no other player in Big Green history has had as many field goals without a miss in a career … hit his shots against Boston College, Penn and Cornell … also had five rebounds, two coming against Yale.
