JUNIOR (2022)
Earned a trio of academic honors on the Academic All-Ivy League Tea, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District I Team and the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team … shared the team’s Charles (Stubbie) Pearson ’42 Award winner as the underclassman whose character, leadership on campus, high academic standing and performance on the playing field most resembles that of the award’s namesake … led the Ivy League in tackles per game (10.0) and ranked 13th nationally, while his 80 total tackles were second on the squad and fourth in the conference … came out of the gate on a mission, collecting 51 tackles in the first four contests, leading the team in each game … started off with 11 stops with a pass breakup in the season-opening, 35-13 victory over Valparaiso … added another tackle to that total each of the the following two weeks at Sacred Heart and versus Penn with an even dozen … dropped a career-high 16 Bulldogs in a three-point road loss to the eventual Ancient Eight champion, Yale … was on his way to another double-digit tackle effort when an injury against New Hampshire left him one short with nine and kept him out of the next two games … returned to the field at Princeton and contributed six stops to the Big Green effort … rejoined the starting lineup the next week at Cornell and came away with 10 tackles … was able to take it easy in the season finale with four stops in the 30-7 rout of Brown.
SOPHOMORE (2021)
Appeared in all 10 games, primarily on special teams … had a pair of tackles on kickoff coverages in the 28-18 season-opening win at Valparaiso and two more in the 38-21 victory at No. 23 New Hampshire … made another stop on a kickoff at 21st-ranked Harvard, then posted a tackle as a linebacker during the final Princeton possession as the Big Green wrapped up a 31-7 triumph over the 16th-ranked Tigers.
FRESHMAN (2020)
Season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
HIGH SCHOOL
Four-year letter winner in football and basketball and captained both teams at Upper Dauphin … broke school’s career records for rushing touchdowns, total yards and completion percentage … chosen the Tri-Valley League MVP and awarded all-state honors as he led his team to a 12-1 record and the league and district championships … posted 56 tackles with six tackles for loss, two sacks and an interception as a junior … broke 1,000-point mark on basketball court … National Honor Society Vice President … served on student council and was a class officer all four years.

Full name is Macklin Matthew Ayers … born on Aug. 17, 2001 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania … son of Brandy Botts-Runk and Todd Ayers has one sister … father played football at Kutztown and his mother played basketball at Hofstra … grandfather Mike Botts was a center at Penn State … chose Dartmouth over a preferred walk-on offer from his grandfather's alma mater … enjoys fishing, hunting, hiking and time with family and friends.
