Gabe Tash enters his second season as the goaltending coach for the Big Green. In his first season, the Big Green goaltenders had a goals against average of 2.35 and a save percentage of .898.
In three seasons before coming to Dartmouth, he was the head goalie coach with the South Shore Dynamos in Randolph, Mass., developing individual, team and game skills for goalies. Prior to his stint with the Dynamos, he was the goalie coach for both men’s and women’s hockey programs at St. Marks School in Southborough, Mass.
A 2006 graduate of Hamilton College in New York, Tash was named the 2002-03 New England Small College Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year and is second in school history with 1,517 saves in 59 career games. He played all four years between the pipes and two years as the team’s starting netminder. He earned his bachelor’s degree in government at Hamilton.
Before Hamilton, Tash attended the Salisbury School and graduated in 2002. He was an All-Founders League selection and was a member of the Division I Prep School All-New England team.
While at Hamilton he of the Hamilton College Emergency Medical Services and was promoted from a technician to a paramedic with the Cataldo Ambulance in Somerville, Mass., in 2007. Currently he is enrolled at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, N.H., and working towards his masters in physician assistant studies. He spends time around the Dartmouth Med School and uses their anatomy lab and library here on campus.
