Alex McFadden, Josie Harper Head Coach of Women's Lacrosse announced the addition of Ela Hazar as an assistant coach ahead of the 2026 season.
Hazar played four seasons at North Carolina from 2015-18 while becoming the career leader in assists at North Carolina with 121 in her career. The Westwood, Mass. native won the 2016 National Championship while winning the ACC Championship in 2016, 2017, and 2018.
During her four-year career in Chapel Hill, she played 78 games while making 58 starts. She netted 100 goals and 121 assists, of her 100 goals nine of them were game winning goals. The attacker was named All-ACC as a junior and senior while also being named an All-American by the IWLCA and Inside Lacrosse.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ela Hazar to our coaching staff as she begins her coaching career here at Dartmouth College. Ela’s experience as a standout player, combined with her energy and passion for the game, will be a tremendous asset to our program” McFadden said.
Along with her extensive collegiate career, Hazar represented England as a member of the national team starting in 2018. From 2018-20 she played for the New England Command of the Women’s Professional Lacrosse League (WPLL).
Since 2017, she coached with Mass Elite & Achieve Lacrosse in Boston. She assisted with club practices, tournaments and camps for the program. In her role she was dedicated to fostering player confidence and leadership both on and off the field.
Hazar is excited to start her coaching career at Dartmouth and under McFadden “I’m incredibly grateful to be joining the Dartmouth Athletics family and the women’s lacrosse program. I want to thank head coach Alex (McFadden) and the entire staff for this opportunity. I share Alex’s passion for building a winning culture and developing student-athletes both on and off the field, and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of that here at Dartmouth. I look forward to working with the players and coaches to continue building on the program’s success in the Ivy League.
