Nathaniel Dominy took over the role of Faculty Athletics Representative for the department in the winter of 2025.
“Athletics is an essential co-curricular activity that is baked into the DNA of Dartmouth College,” said Dominy. “I am thrilled to serve as Dartmouth's Faculty Athletics Representative, and I look forward to building partnerships between our student-athletes, faculty and staff and the NCAA.”
A former student-athlete at Johns Hopkins, the 1998 graduate serves as the Charles Hansen Professor of Anthropology at Dartmouth. His research revolves around the evolution, ecology and behavior of primates, with a special focus on diet and human origins.
In addition to serving as Dartmouth's NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative, Professor Dominy is a Team Faculty Advisor to Football and a Faculty Fellow in the House Residential System.
Professor Dominy was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Ecology and Evolution, University of Chicago (2002-04) following the completion of his PhD in Anatomy at the University of Hong Kong (2001). He is a 1998 graduate of Johns Hopkins University where he was a fullback on the football team, and was awarded the Johns Hopkins Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2017.
