Thai Places Sixth In Season Opening Tournament

STATEBORO, Ga.—The Dartmouth women's golf team opened the 2025 fall season at The Southern hosted by Georgia Southern. The Big Green finished eighth overall with a team score of 919 (+55).

Sophie Thai led the team with a sixth-place finish to kick off her senior year. She started the tournament with a +2 74 in the opening round which featured three straight birdies on the fifth, sixth, and seventh. She shot a second 74 in the second round after recording three birdies throughout the round. She closed out the tournament with a +1 73 to secure a top 10 finish.

Hope Hall tied for 29^th with a tournament score of +15. She opened the tournament with a 74 and played the second round even par for a 36-hole score of +2. On Tuesday, she shot an 85 and finished tied for 29^th on the leaderboard.

Lauren Pham finished T-40 in her first tournament of her junior year. In the first round she birdied a trio of holes while shooting a 79. In the second round on Monday, she shot a 76 for a +4. In the final round she posted a 79 which included birdies on the second and 15^th.

Alissa Xu played as an individual and notched a T-45 finish to open the year. She shot an 80 to start the two day tournament and followed it up with a 77 in the second round. In the final round she posted a pair of birdies while finishing with a 79.

Caroline Chung was just one shot back of Xu as she finished T-48. In the opening round she shot a 79 with one birdie and 10 pars. The second round saw three birdies in a row on five, six, and seven while finishing with a 78. In the final round she had two birdies and finished with an 80.

Olivia Cong shot a 77 in the first round and posted a 76 in the second round on Monday. On Tuesday, she shot an 87^th as she finished in 53^rd for the Big Green.

Dartmouth returns to the course on Monday, Sept. 22 to take part in the Bandana Invitational hosted by Boston College.
