HANOVER, N.H. - Boston College took both games of a doubleheader today against Dartmouth by the same 6-0 score. The Big Green finished the season with a 10-26-1 record while Boston College improved to 20-24. Kelly Fry (Marietta, Ga.) had two hits on the day for Dartmouth.
In the first game Boston College scattered six runs off eight hits through seven innings. The Eagles had single runs in the first and fourth while scoring twice in the third and sixth frames. Carley McNary went 2-4 with two runs, knocking the only triple of the game to give BC the 6-0 win.
Angela Megaw (3-10) (Bomoseen, Vt.) was in the circle for Dartmouth. The freshman went five innings, allowing two earned runs while striking out three. Another freshman, Abby Reed (Barrington, Ill.) came on in relief. Reed went two innings with no hits while striking out one. Britney Thompson (9-10) pitched the whole game for BC. She allowed just no hits for the shutout while striking out 10 Dartmouth batters.
In the second game the Eagles again scattered runs through seven innings with two runs in the third, one in the fifth and three in the seventh. Jenna Macchi was 3-4 with two runs and two RBI, including the only home run of the day in the 6-0 victory. Sarah Bankoff (Lynnfield, Mass.), Jodee Thompson (Carmichael, Calif.), Jill Garcia (Lowell, Mass.) and Fry all recorded hits for Dartmouth.
Karin Edwardson (3-8) (Lake Worth, Fla.) went the full seven innings for the Big Green. She allowed five earned runs while striking out seven. Michelle Daly (10-9) was in the circle for Boston College. She pitched her first shutout of the season, allowing just four Dartmouth hits while striking out six.
