In early voting for Dartmouth men's basketball MVP, the front-runner is trainer Len Angelli.
Vexed by an amazing string of injuries, the Big Green (0-3) will nonetheless try to put its best (uninjured) foot forward tonight when Siena (0-2) visits Leede Arena for a 7 p.m. tip.
Three potential starters -- Leon Pattman, Marlon Sanders and Brian McMillan -- are out of the lineup. Pattman, one of Dartmouth's leading scorers from a year ago, has missed the first three games of the season with a high ankle sprain and might not return until next week.
Sanders, a sophomore who was emerging as Dartmouth's best guard, sustained a knee injury at George Washington last week and is out indefinitely, according to Big Green head coach Terry Dunn.
To make matters even more painful, McMillan, a 6-foot-9 junior and the Big Green's top rebounder in his first three starts, will undergo surgery to re-break and straighten his injured nose. He is expected to miss the next three games, including Dartmouth's trip to No. 12 Kansas next Tuesday.
