Ithaca, N.Y. - The Dartmouth men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 overtime decision to Cornell this afternoon. With the loss, Dartmouth falls to 6-8-3/3-3-1 Ivy, closing out the regular season.
Cornell sealed the win with less than two minutes left in the second overtime period. The Big Red took advantage of a corner kick opportunity, as Brian Kuritzky crossed the ball to Aaron Vieria, who headed it in for the golden goal.
The squads played a tough battle throughout, though Dartmouth held a 15-10 advantage in shots. The Big Green had 12 corner kick opportunities to the Big Red's three.
Dartmouth senior goalkeeper Rowan Anders (Qualicum Beach, B.C.) posted five saves in the loss while his counterpart, Luca Cerretani, made eight stops in the shutout win.
Mark Limpert (Elizabethtown, Pa.) and Mike Ordonez (Coral Gables, Fla.) each recorded four shots to pace the Dartmouth attack.
The Big Green closed out the regular season with a 6-8-3 mark, 3-3-1 Ivy.
