The Dartmouth softball team drops its final game at the Speedline Invitational hosted by the University of South Florida. The Big Green lost 6-1 to Ohio University and will now travel to Orlando to participate in the Rebel Games.
Dartmouth (2-7) scored one run in the top of the first. Jess Reiten (Santa Ana, Calif.) reached first on a fielders choice and advanced to second on a passed ball. Ashley Gleason (Costa Mesa, Calif.) got a hit that moved to Reiten to third with Kelly Fry (Marietta, Ga.) knocking in Reiten for the go-ahead run.
The Bobcats pulled ahead in the bottom of the frame by scoring six runs to take the lead.
Angela Megaw (Bomoseen, Vt.) on the mound for Dartmouth gave up all six earned runs before freshman Stephanie Trudeau (Spokane, Wash.) came on relief. Trudeau faced the final batter of the inning, getting the out for the Big Green and then holding the Bobcats hitless for the rest of the game. Trudeau finished with six strikeouts on the day.
