Dartmouth has advanced to the NCAA Tournament seven times and played in the national championship game twice. In 1942, Dartmouth knocked off Penn State and Kentucky to advance to the final before losing to Stanford, 53-38. In 1944 the Green again played for the national championship, only to lose a heart-breaking 42-40 overtime decision to Utah.
