BOSTON - A balanced effort led the Dartmouth men's swimming and diving team to a 131-102 victory at Boston University this afternoon. The team improved to 2-7 with the win. The Big Green women also swam intrasquad exhibition races, for which times are available on the results page.
Sophomore Andrew Ballentine (Pendleton, Ind.) was Dartmouth's only multiple-event winner, taking first in the 400 yd individual medley (4:15.3) and the 200 yd breaststroke (2:13.63).
Junior diver Andrew Berry (Middleton, Wisc.) took first in the one-meter event (292.35) and second in the three-meter (294.0) to pace the Big Green.
Junior Joe Braunreuther (South Orange, N.J.) finished first in the 1000 yd freestyle with a time of 9:54.07 as the Big Green took first through third. Classmate Drew Wenzel (Fremont, Calif.) was first in the 50 yd freestyle (22.06) and took second in the 100 yd freestyle at 49.61.
Junior Gordon Russell (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) won the 200 yd backstroke in a time of 1:56.57 while freshman Cary Stathopoulos (New York, N.Y.) was victorious in the 500 yd freestyle at 4:50.64.
Dartmouth is back in action next Saturday when it heads south to face Ivy opponents Penn and Princeton at Princeton.
