HANOVER, N.H. - Columbia took a 1-0 lead two minutes into the game and Dartmouth couldn't recover as the Lions defeated the Big Green, 2-0, on homecoming at Scully Fahey Field.

Columbia (8-5, 3-2 Ivy) went up early on nice tip in from Lauren Hanna, two minutes into the game. Jacqui Munro fired a shot from the top of the circle that found its way through traffic and off of Hanna's stick and past senior goaltender Ashley Heist (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) for the 1-0 lead.

Dartmouth (4-9, 1-4 Ivy) had a 9-3 advantage in total shots, including five on goal, but could not get the ball past Gena Miller. The Big Green also led Columbia, 5-1, in penalty corners.

In the second half, Christine Buszczak gave the Lions the 2-0 lead with 21:44 remaining in the game as she redirected a Julia Garrison shot on a penalty corner.

The Big Green held a 13-6 advantage in shots, but could not capitalize. Dartmouth also led in penalty corners at 8-3.

Heist got the start in net for the Big Green and made two saves, while Miller came up big for the Lions with seven saves.

Dartmouth will be on the road next week, starting with Massachusetts on Wednesday at 6 p.m., and will return home to face Cornell in its final Ivy League contest on Saturday, November 3, at 12 noon.
