PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Sophomore Sarah Parsons (Dover, Mass.) and junior Maggie Kennedy (West Hartford, Conn.) each posted goals as Dartmouth shutout the Brown Bears, 2-0, to move its unbeaten streak to six games.
The Big Green (5-0-1, 3-0-0 ECAC, 2-0-0 Ivy) got on the board first with 4:04 remaining in the first period as sophomore Sarah Parsons (Dover, Mass.) netted a shorthanded unassisted goal for her third of the season to put Dartmouth on top 1-0.
Dartmouth dominated the play in the first period, outshooting Brown 16-7. Brown goaltender Nicole Stock was up for the challenge as she stopped 15 shots.
In the second period, The Big Green continued to put Brown (1-5-1, 1-4-1 ECAC, 0-2-1 Ivy) on its heels and the Bears didn't help themselves with penalties. Dartmouth had three chances on the power play, including one nine seconds into the period, but Stock made all the stops on Dartmouth's 15 shots.
The Big Green began the final period shorthanded, following a hooking call at the end of the second period, but Brown could not generate any offense as the Bears failed to put a shot on the net.
Dartmouth increased its lead to 2-0 with just under three minutes remaining in the game. Junior Maggie Kennedy (West Hartford, Conn.) continued her point streak as she tallied her third of the season. Kennedy has recorded at least one point in the last four games for the Big Green.
Junior netminder Carli Clemis (Taber, Alta.) stopped 22 shots to earn her sixth career shutout and first of the season. Stock was impressive in goal with 38 saves between the pipes
The Big Green outshot the Bears 40-22 and both teams were shutout on the power play as Dartmouth was 0-6 on the man advantage, while Brown was 0-5.
