HANOVER, N.H. - Junior Jenna Cunningham (Medicine Hat, Alta.) and freshman Amanda Trunzo (Andover, Minn.) netted two goals apiece as Dartmouth defeated Quinnipiac, 8-1, on Saturday afternoon.
For Dartmouth (3-0-1, 2-0-0 ECAC), Cunningham led the way for the Big Green with her two goals and two assists, while junior Maggie Kennedy collected a goal and two assists.
Sophomore Sarah Parsons (Dover, Mass.) tallied a goal and two assists and junior Shannon Bowman (Leamington, Ont.) contributed two assists on the night. Senior Amy Cobb (Edina, Minn.) had another good outing with two assists, while freshmen Alyssa Boehm (Waterford, Conn.) notched her first career goal in the third period.
For Quinnipiac (1-5-1, 0-4-1 ECAC), Kelley Davies tallied the lone goal with the assist going to Evelina Husar. In goal for the Bobcats, Jamie Miller made 38 saves, including 15 in the first period. She was relieved in the third for Catherin LaGrasso who gave up Dartmouth's eighth goal of the night.
The Big Green controlled the tempo all game long, outshooting the Bobcats 46-9, with 18 shots coming in the first period.
In goal for Dartmouth was sophomore Mariel Lacina (London, Ont.) who earned her first career win, making eight saves in the victory.
The Big Green will be on the road next weekend as Dartmouth travels to Providence for a 2 p.m. face-off against the Friars on Sunday, November 11.
