Dartmouth Women's Track & Field Enjoys Victories in Home Meet
HANOVER, N.H. - The Big Green women's track and field team won six events at the Dartmouth Indoor Classic that was contested Saturday evening.
Dartmouth dominated the mile run, sweeping the top seven places. Freshman
Laura Tabor (Portsmouth, N.H.) led the Big Green pack to the finish line with a time of 5:14.32. Tabor was the runner-up in the 800 meters, clocking 2:22.82.
Freshman Natalie Stoll (Portland, Ore.) won the 500 meters in 1:18.29, while classmate
Megan Ramirez (Auburn, Calif.) grabbed the 1,000 meters in 2:59.97. On the track, the 4 x 400 relay clocked 4:00.10 for a five-second victory.
In the pole vault, the Big Green claimed the top three spots. Senior Lilly Bertz (Southbury, Conn.) was first by virtue of attempts, as she and sophomore
Natalie Todd-Zebell (Portland, Ore.) both cleared 12-0. Junior Erika Graham (East Longmeadow, Mass.) was third in 10-6.
In the long jump, junior Cassandre Tanner (Baltimore, Md.) topped the field with 17-7.
Second place efforts were turned in by sophomore Ashley Smith (Anchorage, Alaska), 7.96 in the 60 meter dash; freshman
Ali Smrcina (Falmouth, Mass.), 5:14.87 in the mile; sophomore
Marcy Van Arnam (Syracuse, N.Y.), 3:00.53 in the 1,000; freshman Lauren LaDolcetta (West Windsor, N.J.), 34-8 1/2 in the triple jump; and senior
Jamila Smith (Memphis, Tenn.), 44-10 3/4 in the shot and 52-4 1/2 in the weight.
The track and field team returns to action February 9-10, competing in Boston at the Valentine's Invitational.
