Dartmouth Dominates Multi-Events Competitions in Arizona
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Dartmouth seniors
Tyler Koskenoja (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) and
Jadah Chatterton-Richmond (Rochester, N.H.) had outstanding performances as the Big Green in the Desert multi-events competition wrapped up Thursday.
In the decathlon, Koskenoja finished second with 7,179 points, an NCAA provisional qualifier and third on Dartmouth's all-time list. Although early in the season, Koskenoja's point total was the best by an American collegian to date.
In the heptathlon, Chatterton-Richmond led a Big Green sweep of the top four places. She won with 4,648 points and was followed by junior Cassandre Tanner (Baltimore, Md.) with 4,533. Sophomore
Karen Woolley (Herndon, Va.) was third with 4,437, and junior Kara Pydynkowski (Danvers, Mass.), fourth at 4,299.
Sophomore Tim Wunderlich (Westminster, Md.) earned 6,907 points, good for third place. He also bettered the NCAA provisional standard and moved into fifth on Dartmouth's all-time list.
In the javelin, Wunderlich threw 202-4, the fourth best mark in Big Green history and an NCAA regional qualifying performance.
The decathlon winner was former Dartmouth All-America Mustafa Abdur-Rahim with 7,648 points.
