Santa Barbara, Calif. - The Dartmouth men's tennis team won its third-straight match this afternoon, downing the University of California-Santa Barbara. The Big Green improved to 14-3 overall and with a 3-2 mark during the past eight days, clinched its first winning record on a spring trip since 2001 when the team went 3-1.
The Green started off with a key win at the #3 doubles spot with Ari Gayer combining with freshman Andy Kim for the win. UCSB evened the doubles score at 1-1 with a win at #2 doubles. After 1 hour and 55 minutes, an epic victory at #1 doubles was grasped by David Waslen and Daniel Freeman for the Green. Having played approximately 26 break points Waslen floated a shot through the middle once again proving the old doubles adage "down the middle solves the riddle,” to clinch the match.
